PTA Annual General Meeting
The Annual General Meeting of the Horsmonden Primary School PTA is to be held in school on Wednesday 23 January 2008 at 7.30pm.
The PTA plays a vital part in the school community and all parents, as members of the PTA, are invited to support the AGM. This is your chance to hear and see how the funds you have helped to raise have been used for the benefit of the children at our school.
The AGM is also an opportunity for you to elect the PTA Committee to represent the association throughout the forthcoming year. Nominations should be sent in advance of the AGM to Tricia Sparks, PTA Secretary, via the school office, for existing committee members willing to stand for re-election and for anyone wishing to stand for the first time.
If you would like any further information about what is involved in being a committee member, please speak to any of the current committee - Nicky Allen, Mark Austin, Bev Beney, Liz Dunn, Sarah Foster, Alison Fullick, Simon Hookway, Josie Lewis, Tricia Sparks, Lou Stephenson, Richard Townshend, Andrea Vinton or Mark Weare.
At the AGM it is the intention to propose the adoption of an updated constitution based on the National Confederation of Parent Teacher Associations' model constitution and to vary the membership to allow the committee to accept any person as a member wishing to offer appropriate support or help to the school. The latter will enable other persons, currently not parents or teachers at the school, but offering help to be covered by the objects of the Association and its insurances. This requires the association to become a 'Friends and Parent Teachers Association'. A copy of the existing and proposed new constitution will be available together with the agenda for the meeting from the school office and via the school website.
