The Friends of Horsmonden Primary School

The Friends of Horsmonden Primary School (FoHPS) has thriving, energetic and wonderful in bringing parents and the school together for the good of the children.

Special events

Both adults and children benefit from the efforts of The Friends. Adults have recently enjoyed a Curry and Bingo Night and Barn Dance, whilst children have had their own version of Bangers and Bingo.

Our biggest event of the year was the School Fete on 21st June. This year we had a magical theme for children and adults to join in with in a day that lived up to its reputation of being a great annual village event raising £3,200 for the school in the process.

School Uniform

This is a service we provide carrying stock of all the items and sell them on at cost. We also sell good quality items of second hand uniform. Both of these services are looked after by Zoe Ferguson.

Refreshments at new parents evenings or similar events.

Fund Raising

FoHPS play a crucial role in the developing the extras for your children. Alongside elements of school that create greater comfort, such as new blinds in all classrooms, the Friends have provided thousands of pounds worth of outdoor equipment to keep your children active and busy during play and lunchtimes. Currently, FoHPS are working to develop the new cookery facility, children's library and extended services area. Next Spring, the outside of the school will be transformed by the addition of sale shades and canopies enabling greater use of outdoors in day-to-day lessons.

Events

The social life of the school for children and parents is enriched by the activities of FoHPS. Events through the year include Bangers and Bingo for the children as well as Bingo and Curry Night for the adults. Children's discos, quizzes and other activities help your children to make good friendships across the age groups.
